for startups looking to connect

Almaworks is currently open to accepting new startups as part of our Summer 2024 Cohort!

Are you a startup founder/representative looking to host an Almaworks Fellow? Please fill out this form.

Deadline for startup cohort - April 1st, 2024

How can Almaworks help you?

Since Spring 2020, Almaworks has helped connect startups with over 500 talented and ambitious Columbia University undergraduates. Our extensive vetting process is personalized to the needs of each startup, and startups get the final say on each intern that we connect them with. Students gain hands-on experience on immersive projects while contributing to startup growth.

What do fellows do?

Fellows work on a variety of impactful projects, including organizational strategy, product development, software development, hardware engineering, and go-to-market strategy. Our Fellows come from both technical and non-technical backgrounds and are excited to wear many hats. Fellows have helped startups expand to new market segments, coded new features in products, conducted UI/UX research, and much more!

Weekly Time Commitments

Fellows join the program expecting to spend 10-15 hours per week on their given project. They must meet with their host company at least once per week to provide project updates and set their weekly agendas.

After the Fellowship

At the end of 8 weeks, fellows are no longer required to work with their host startup, but they are welcome to continue working for the founding team if that is mutually agreed upon. Internships have lasted anywhere from 2 to 14 months in the past.
